Tell Congress to stand up for wildlife

Federal cuts and firings put birds, fish, and other wildlife we cherish in the South at risk.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) works in partnership with citizens and government agencies to conserve animals, plants and their habitats for the benefit of American people. Because of this incredible effort, we can reduce and manage harmful human impacts to protect our shared natural heritage. These dedicated public servants and the important programs they steward, including the National Wildlife Refuge System, conserve our wildlife and other natural resources, provide communities with healthier environments, and strengthen local economies.

The Trump administration came into office promising a boost to our economy but instead slashed 200,000 federal positions – firing many employees responsible for protecting clean air, clean water, and our nation’s natural treasures. Here in the South, we work alongside FWS to protect our region’s world class abundance of plant and animal species—including both populations at risk of extinction and those that are stable.

Tell Congress to stand up to President Trump’s reckless firings, funding cuts, and rollbacks to wildlife protections, and defend the South’s wildlife, including the public lands and workers they depend on.
