Support lower power bills in GA

The Georgia Homegrown Solar Act would allow community solar projects to offer reliable, low-cost energy to Georgia Power customers. This means solar access for folks who are unable to put panels on their roof because they rent their home or business, can’t afford upfront costs, or don’t have a suitable roof.

Community solar is a small solar array that gives nearby residents, businesses, and nonprofits the option to receive savings on their energy bill. Because community solar arrays are fueled by the sun, (not by expensive fossil fuels), they provide benefits to the electric grid and allow customers to reduce their overall energy costs.

Community solar programs have saved customers 5-20% on their bills, put additional power on the grid, and created good paying jobs in more than 20 states. This would be a gamechanger in Georgia where Georgia Power customers pay some of the highest energy bills in the country.

You can help by telling Georgia lawmakers that every Georgia Power customer deserves access to clean, cost-saving solar energy, and you support the Georgia Homegrown Solar Act.
